That’s why it’s wise to be wary of anyone who is too hasty to get to the future. Would they be fleeing forward if behind them was a plethora of great friends and good deeds? I doubt it. If you examine their journey, you’ll find nothing but the shards and splinters of broken promises.
Apply this to yourself too.
Is your thirst for improvement noble? Does your chase for knowledge originate from altruistic motives? Or have you merely clothed your aspirations in a way that hides their reek and stink? Is your pursuit of a better future compelled by the need to escape your past?
